If you’ve worked in HVAC, marine, or industrial systems long enough, you’ve probably run into this situation: a valve needs service, you track down the manufacturer, and the parts simply aren’t available anymore. Maybe the product line was discontinued. Maybe the company was acquired. Maybe the parts are technically available — but only from an overseas supplier with a six-week lead time and no guarantee of the right fit.
At Metrex Valve, we’ve been designing and manufacturing water regulating valves in Southern California for over 60 years. And one of the commitments we’ve held to throughout that entire time is straightforward: if we made it, we support it. Every valve we manufacture comes with a corresponding rebuild kit — and we’ve just made it easier than ever to find exactly what you need through our fully updated Valve Rebuild Kit resource center at metrexvalve.com.
We support every valve we make. That’s not a limited-time policy — it’s how we’ve operated for over six decades.
What’s Now Available on the Rebuild Kit Page
Our updated resource center now covers every valve series in the Metrex product line — 24 series in total, spanning sizes from 3/8″ screwed-end valves to 8″ marine flanged configurations. Whether you’re maintaining a standard commercial HVAC installation, a Navy-qualified marine system, or a high-pressure industrial application, the correct rebuild kit documentation is available directly from the page, downloadable as a PDF.
Here’s a look at the full range of series now covered:
Series Application 300 / M300 / 365 Flanged pressure actuated — commercial HVAC, 2-way and 3-way configurations, 2-1/2″ 500 / 510 / 565 Screwed end and flanged — standard and thermostatic, 1-1/4″ to 2-1/2″ 800 / 810 / 840 Standard service pressure actuated — screwed end, 3/8″ to 2-1/2″ 900 / M900 / 965 Screwed end and flanged — standard and thermostatic, 1/2″ to 2-1/2″ 93 / 9365 Thermostatic standard service, 3/4″ to 1-1/2″ CR Series Commercial marine flanged 2-way, 4″ to 8″ DA Series Direct acting — SE, UE, NF, FL, and CM configurations, 3/8″ to 2-1/2″ MDFP / MDFPM Marine and flanged, 2-way and 3-way, 3″ to 8″ MM Series Marine flanged heavy duty, 2″ to 4″ WCCW / WCCWHR / WCCW65 High pressure water side, multiple pressure ratings, 3/8″ to 1″ WCME / WCMEHR / WCME65 Electric actuated — standard and high pressure, 3/4″ to 1″ YM-C Series Marine flanged large bore heavy industrial, 6″ to 8″ To find your kit, simply click on the rebuild kit part number listed next to your valve model. Each link opens a downloadable PDF with the complete parts list for that specific kit. If you’re working with legacy equipment and need to cross-reference a Johnson Controls part number to a Metrex equivalent, we’ve made that guide easy to find directly from the rebuild kit page as well.
What’s Actually in a Rebuild Kit — and What Are Your Options
We offer two types of support, depending on what your situation calls for.
The first is a standard off-the-shelf rebuild kit. These kits are stocked with the components most likely to need replacement over the service life of the valve — things like O-rings, seat discs, and stem guides. Because these are the parts that see the most wear under normal operating conditions, having them available in a single kit means a contractor or maintenance team can order fast and get the job done without hunting down individual components from multiple sources.
Beyond the standard kits, every rebuild kit can also be customized with additional components — bellows assemblies, valve seats, diaphragm housings, and more. If you’re not sure what your specific situation calls for, you can download the rebuild kit table for your valve from our online store, or call our customer service team and we’ll walk you through it.
The second option is a full factory rebuild. For more specialized valves — particularly those with electric hydraulic actuators — some operators prefer to send the valve back to us rather than handle the rebuild on site. In those cases, we do a complete tear-down, evaluate all components, rebuild from a kit, and return the valve with a one-year factory warranty. It’s the cleanest path to restoring a valve to like-new performance without the cost of a full replacement.
For a contractor in the field, discovering that parts for a valve aren’t available is a serious problem. With Metrex, that won’t happen. We keep our rebuild kits in stock because service is a normal part of maintaining capital equipment — not an afterthought.
Why U.S.-Made Parts Matter More Than Ever
The past few years have made one thing clear to facilities managers and procurement teams across the country: supply chains that depend on overseas components carry real operational risk. When parts are manufactured abroad, lead times aren’t measured in days — they’re measured in weeks or months, if the parts are available at all. For equipment that needs to stay operational, that’s not an acceptable situation.
Metrex valves are designed and manufactured right here in Southern California. That means our rebuild kits ship from domestic inventory, without the uncertainty of international freight, customs delays, or offshore quality control. When you need a part, we have it — and we can get it to you.
There’s also a cost argument that often gets overlooked. Replacing a valve that could have been rebuilt for a fraction of the price isn’t just an unnecessary expense — it’s also a longer lead time, a bigger installation job, and more disruption to the system. Our rebuild kits are designed to extend the service life of your equipment significantly, and they’re priced to make rebuilding the obvious choice over replacement.
Applications: Who Benefits from This Resource
Our valve rebuild kits support operations across a wide range of industries and applications:
Industry / Application Who It Serves Key Use Case Commercial & Industrial HVAC Building managers, HVAC contractors Maintaining valves in chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems Marine & Naval Vessel operators, Navy-qualified systems Seawater condenser valves and marine flanged configurations Nuclear Power HVAC Nuclear facilities and regulated environments High-reliability valve maintenance with strict parts traceability Industrial Process & Refrigeration Manufacturing and processing facilities High-pressure refrigerant and water-side valve applications Contractors & Distributors Service teams and parts suppliers Fast identification and ordering of correct rebuild kits How to Use the Updated Rebuild Kit Page
Getting to the right kit is straightforward. On the rebuild kit page, valves are organized by series. Find your series, locate your valve model and size, and click the rebuild kit part number to download the PDF documentation. From there, you can contact us to order or purchase directly through the online store.
If you’ve inherited a system and aren’t sure which valve series you’re working with, the series name and part number are typically stamped on the valve body. If you need help identifying your valve, our customer service team is available Monday through Thursday to assist.
